Electrolysis was invented in 1875 by Dr. Charles Michel,an opthalmologist.  He removed an ingrown eyelash using a needle and galvanic(direct) current.  Over time, techniques and equipment have evolved to provide the most effective method of permanent hair removal avaiable today. 

Using Electrolysis, each hair and follicle is treated individually to destroy the hair papilla,(the germ cell of the hair).The density of hair growth decreases over time.  

IPL - Intense Pulsed Light was invented in 1991 by Dr. Shimon Eckhous and his colleague, Dr. Michael Kreindel.

Using IPL , each follicle is heated to a level of 70 degrees Centigrade.  It is possible to treat an area rather than each individual. The amount of time for each treatment is less.  Using IPL, only 4 to 6 treatments are needed to clear an area.
